Louis started playing golf in his late 20’s, and while he was athletic and could hit the ball really far, very often it would be over the first row of houses that lined the course. He struggled with a significant slice for years. It wasn’t until he met his fellow founders Jared and Matt that he was able to tame my swing with SmartGrip. 

Umbrella Sports has developed a device that connects to the back of a Q-mark (glove with the magnetic ball marker attachment) and it tells you when you have the correct grip. The SmartGrip has a tiny gyroscope inside and when your grip is correct the small green LED light turns on. Using the SmartGrip helps to develop the muscle memory for a strong grip, which will prevent a slice and adds additional yardage to your drive.

This technology is also officially permitted under the rules of golf by the USGA, so you can also use it in tournament play.

The Founding team was able to fully fund their Indiegogo campaign in April 2022, and have since sold over 250 chips. The second round of production has just been completed and they have began raising their first round of capital.
